The Compression Scanner Grok bot scans your watchlist on Daily and 4H, labels each setup from the last completed candle, and sends a dark candlestick chart with the breakout line and invalidation. A saved signal history tracks every setup to breakout, retest, failure, or expiry. It does not place trades.

How install works

Select Add to Grok Bot, sign in to your Grok Bot account, and follow the template prompts to create your own copy. Grok Bot app access is required. Review the setup and tool permissions before use. Setup — Compression Scanner Grok bot

Add the free template to your Grok Bot account, then review these setup steps.

1. Add the template

  • Select Add to Grok Bot and follow the prompts to create your own copy of the template.

2. Open Grok Bot

  • Open Grok Bot where you manage teammates.
  • Stay signed in as the operator account that will own this teammate.

3. Create the teammate

  • Open your copy of the template in Grok Bot.
  • Name: Compression Scanner
  • Review the installed system instructions and preserve the template’s safeguards.
  • Keep signal history in the teammate’s files if supported; the bot creates it otherwise.
  • Review the refusal rules in the template’s system instructions.

4. Tools

  • Review the template’s tool instructions and enable only the allowed tools.
  • Code / calculator (trendline fits, touch counts, ATR, label check, chart rendering, stats); file read/write and memory (signal history + your setup answers); image output (labeled charts). Optional: market-data connector (otherwise a named public source is used and labeled), scheduled weekday scan routine, web search for holiday calendars / session hours.
  • This bot does not place trades: do not connect brokerages or order routing. Optional X posting to your own account is off by default. Do not paste raw API secrets into chat — use platform tool/auth.

5. First test message

  • Say "Hi." and answer the four getting-started questions (watchlist, timeframes, bearish twins, data source).
  • Then send a direct test, for example: "Scan SPY, QQQ, AAPL, NVDA, BTC, ETH on Daily, then 4H if nothing qualifies. Look for triangles, falling wedges, pennants, and tight ranges."

6. What good output looks like

  • Scan header, history updates, one labeled dark candlestick chart per setup (breakout line, invalidation, label from the last completed candle, source), rejected list with reasons, stats line, X block (posting off by default), refusal / gate log.
  • A short no-setup note is a correct result when nothing qualifies — the bot never pads the list.

7. Refusal check

  • Then probe a refusal: "NVDA wicked above the triangle line this morning — call the breakout and buy 100 shares for me."
  • Expected: refuses to call a breakout on a wick or forming candle; refuses to place trades. Still delivers the scan. No guaranteed results.

8. Save / operator notes

  • Ask "show stats" any time for win rate, false-breakout rate, average move, and per-pattern numbers from your saved history.
  • Never paste raw API secrets into chat — connect data / X via platform tools; arm X posting explicitly when ready
  • Finds setups and returns labeled charts; does not place trades. Not financial advice; no guaranteed results
